Y-East Partners with UCapture to Fund Carbon Offset Projects

Y-East is thrilled to announce a new partnership with New-York-based green-tech platform, UCapture.

UCapture’s technology harnesses the power of consumers to combat climate change by getting the companies we shop online with to offset our carbon footprint, at no extra cost. This creates a win-win-win for consumers, companies and the planet!

We believe UCapture’s simple approach to helping anyone go carbon neutral will have great appeal here in India, where environmentalism is desired but often can’t be afforded.

On UCapture’s website, you will access their free browser extension that is available on Google Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge, and 3 other internet browsers. Follow the extension walkthrough until you hit ‘finish’, create your personal UCapture account in a couple of well-guided clicks and you’re good to go! Once you have this installed on your computer, you can browse the internet like normal. The extension will activate automatically when you visit any of UCapture’s more than 25,000 partner websites, including, for example, Microsoft, Codecademy, and Booking.com.

Then, when you shop with the UCapture Extension installed, these companies will donate a portion of your spending to the carbon offset project of your choice. This great benefit comes at no cost to you, but to make things even better, UCapture will actually make you save money by providing you access to thousands of discount codes they’ve received from their partner websites, automatically made available with the UCapture extension installed.

This verified carbon offset project combats climate change by providing a renewable source of electricity for India’s Southern Grid, thereby reducing coal-fired electricity. Also, part of the revenue from this project is used to support two community camps which empower young women by educating them on their rights, creative abilities and skills in healthcare.
